T.E.A.C.H.
Accrediting Association
T.E.A.C.H.
is officially recognized by the State of Minnesota as an educational
accrediting association, able to give home educators and Christian
schools a certificate of accreditation upon meeting certain criteria.
Our criteria allow for unique differences within educational programs.
The
T.E.A.C.H. Accrediting Association (TAA) exists to assist the
independent home school program help itself improve.
We believe that having schools undertake a periodic evaluation
is a stimulus for improvement.
Accreditation
means that the homeschool is accountable to someone outside their
family, who will stand alongside them and verify that they are
maintaining their academic standards and are progressing towards
their goals. This gives assurance to the public, parents, students,
and the educational community that the school does have the preconditions
necessary for offering a quality educational program. This accountability
weaves consistency and commitment to quality into the individual
school, without succumbing to bureaucratic centralization.
T.E.A.C.H.
accreditation is voluntary and optional. It reflects the sturdy
American trait of cooperative rather than coercive action in seeking
to improve educational services.
Accreditation does not affirm that the school is perfect in all
aspects, but it does certify that the school has the resources,
leadership, and vitality needed for ongoing improvement.
