What is T.E.A.C.H.?

The T.E.A.C.H. Organization consists of two programs: the T.E.A.C.H. Institute and the T.E.A.C.H. Accrediting Association.

The T.E.A.C.H. Institute is an independent home education program dedicated to assist families who have a conviction from God to train their children at home. Our service provides encouragement and accountability for parents who want to receive motivation, and guidance from certified teachers. It also provides fellowship with families that have convictions to maintain high character and academic standards for their children.

Accountability in TEACH is designed to motivate parents to make progress in reaching their academic and character goals. Knowing that a consultant will be reviewing the student's academic work also provides motivation for them to put forth their best effort.

T.E.A.C.H. believes that God has given parents the authority to decide how their children are to be educated and the responsibility to see that this education is according to His unique design for each child. TEACH consultants serve families so they can effectively fulfill that responsibility.

Another unique feature of the T.E.A.C.H. program is its emphasis on character development in conjunction with the academic development of each child. We encourage families to raise standards of Godliness in their homes and work with their consultant to reinforce these qualities in their children.

We believe that the institution of the family is under attack from a pluralistic and secular society. Our mission is to strengthen the family unit and to develop harmonious relationships therein, thereby bringing glory to God.

Services to families are provided by T.E.A.C.H. consultants, who have been trained by the TEACH Consultant Training Program. Consultants contract independently with each family and conduct monthly or quarterly evaluations for accreditation.

In addition to supervision and record-keeping services, T.E.A.C.H. also can provide socializing opportunities for children, local field trips, family gatherings, and group class opportunities.

The State of Minnesota enacted legislation in 1987 that recognizes the parent's responsibility in determining how their children will receive an education. TEACH has helped thousands of families achieve their God given goals since its beginning in 1983. The T.E.A.C.H. Institute enrolls children from pre-school through grade 12. Presently T.E.A.C.H. has its headquarters in Minnesota, with a chapter in Grand Rapids, MI.

Parents desiring to be part of the T.E.A.C.H. Institute should request an application from the office or download and complete the enrollment forms and mail them in.
